Channel Margin

Profit margin after channel-specific costs (commission, packaging, ad spend).

Definition

Channel margin is the gross margin on an order after deducting commission, packaging, ad spend, and refund drag specific to that channel. A typical Zomato/Swiggy order can flip from 'looks profitable' to 'negative contribution' once these are layered in.
